Danielle Greene's record-setting career makes her the first women's golfer inducted into the Millersville Athletics Hall of Fame. Introduced to the game by her parents at just four years old, Greene began playing golf competitively at the age of nine. During her time at Millersville University from 2015-19, Greene won six tournaments and set the program's career scoring record. She piled up PSAC honors, landing All-PSAC honors three times and finishing in the top 10 at the PSAC Championship four times.
Greene owns three of the best four and four of the top 10 single-season scoring averages in program history. Remarkably, she placed in the top 10 in 76% of her career starts. Greene also shot five of the 10 lowest single-round scores in Millersville history.
Greene’s arrival at Millersville signaled the dawn of a new era for the women’s golf program. It had existed for six years, but with Greene in the lineup, the Marauders immediately became a PSAC power. Greene won three tournaments as a freshman and was named PSAC Freshman of the Year. Greene’s sixth-place finish helped the Marauders to the first PSAC Championship, which was one of five team wins that season. Greene nearly set a program scoring record with a first-round 74 at the ESU Invitational.
As a sophomore, Greene recorded nine consecutive top five finishes and finished as the PSAC runner-up enroute to earning the first of her three All-PSAC honors. Her 80.5 scoring average that season still ranks second all-time. Her dominance continued in 2017-18 as she won two tournaments and placed third at the PSAC Championship. As a senior, Greene finished in the top 10 of five of seven events, won the Revolutionary Classic and finished in the top 10 at the PSAC Championship for a fourth time as the team earned a runner-up placement. Greene’s teams totaled eight tournament wins in her four seasons.
Danielle is the daughter of Diana and John Greene. She credits her parents for their endless support throughout her historic athletic career. She is currently an earth science teacher at Cocalico High School and is studying for an Ed.D. through Liberty University.
