ABOUT THE DUAL
- Millersville is back in Pucillo Gymnasium Friday night taking on No. 18 Kutztown. Millersville has dropped three-straight PSAC duals, two of which were to top-5 teams and the other, on Friday night, to Seton Hill by 12 points. The losses to Seton Hill and Pitt-Johnstown put Millersville at 1-4 in PSAC action. Millersville currently sits sixth in the conference's dual standings. Friday's dual presents Millersville with an opportunity to end the PSAC dual season on a high note.
- Kutztown enters the matchup at 3–4 overall and 1–2 in PSAC action. The Golden Bears have already seen three of Millersville’s previous PSAC opponents: Gannon, Seton Hill, and Pitt-Johnstown. They dropped contests to top five national teams in Gannon and Pitt-Johnstown but opened PSAC play with a win over Seton Hill.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS
- Injuries have been a storyline for the Marauders over the past few weeks, but their pride and effort have remained strong in every dual. Millersville has dropped three of its last four matches, with two losses coming against top-five national opponents in Gannon and Pitt-Johnstown. The Marauders enter Friday’s dual with a 3-5 overall record and a 1-4 mark in PSAC action as they prepare for their final conference matchup of the season against Kutztown.
- Redshirt freshman Jaxon Townsend has been on a tear as of late, winning three of his last four matches at 197 pounds. Townsend capped off a sweep this past weekend by defeating his Seton Hill opponent with a technical fall, then followed it up with a pin against the No. 10 ranked wrestler from Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday. The Gettysburg native will have a tough test Friday night as he takes on No. 7 ranked Wayne McIntyre.
- Other notable names to watch include Nick Cottone, Daniel Sinclair, Taylor Robinson, and Richie DeFulvio. The first three competed in last year’s dual, with Cottone and Robinson earning victories. Cottone will continue to wrestle in the 141-pound weight class after recently moving back up following a start at 133.
- The starter at 149 has yet to be confirmed and could feature either Sinclair or Robinson. Sinclair started both matches at 149 over the weekend and finished 1-1, while Robinson competed at 157 against Pitt-Johnstown and suffered a loss. DeFulvio, along with Sinclair, also finished the weekend with a 1-1 record. After a tough Friday night, DeFulvio bounced back with a decision victory against Pitt-Johnstown.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEAR'S
- Kutztown enters Friday night’s dual with four ranked wrestlers, all in the upper weight classes. Twin brothers Bailey Gimbor and Dalton Gimbor are ranked at 157 and 165, while Cole Casilio at 184 and Wayne McIntyre at 197 round out the group.
- At 165 pounds stands No. 13 Bailey Gimbor. Gimbor is 12–3 on the season and 1–2 in PSAC action. The redshirt senior has dropped his last two matches against Pitt-Johnstown and Gannon. Gimbor will face Chase Bish once again after earning a 4–1 decision over him back in November.
- Twin brother Dalton Gimbor is ranked No. 9 at 174 pounds. Gimbor is 16–3 on the season and 2–1 in PSAC duals. He has split his last two matches and is set to face freshman Jack Weldon.
- At 184 pounds is No. 8 Cole Casilio. Casilio transferred to Kutztown from Gannon as a graduate student and owns a 9–1 record this season. He is 2–1 in PSAC action and is coming off a loss to Gannon, his first defeat of the year. Cole Dubois or Avery Aurand will represent the Marauders at 184 and look to put up a strong fight against the tough Golden Bear.
- Finally, at 197 pounds, No. 7 Wayne McIntyre is coming off an upset loss to No. 10 Joey Lyons of Gannon. McIntyre is 15–2 on the season and 2–1 in PSAC action. He’ll go toe-to-toe with Jaxon Townsend, who heads into Friday with plenty of momentum. It’s a matchup that could be the bout of the night and one that may come down to the wire.
SERIES HISTORY
- Millersville holds a 31–24–1 all-time record against Kutztown, but the Golden Bears have closed the gap over the past two decades. The Marauders’ last win came in the 2002–03 season by a 33–6 score. Millersville nearly snapped the drought in 2022–23, narrowly falling 19–17 to Kutztown. The Marauders will look to break the losing streak in Friday’s dual.
- The Last Meeting: 27-12 Kutztown over Millersville: Millersville had the early edge in last year’s dual, winning three of the first four bouts. However, following Nick Cottone’s win at 149, the Marauders went on to drop the final six bouts of the night.
