Gavin Boland represented Millersville at 125 pounds and battled through all three periods before dropping a major decision, giving Seton Hill an early 4–0 advantage. At 133, senior Colin Higgins made his PSAC debut for the season and narrowly missed his first dual win, falling by a 9–8 decision in favor of the Griffins.
Nick Cottone halted Seton Hill's momentum at 141 pounds with an 11–2 major decision. Competing in the weight class for the first time since last season, Cottone controlled the bout from the opening whistle to secure another PSAC victory for the Marauders. At 149, sophomore Daniel Sinclair's match was brief, as he was defeated by technical fall at the 3:20 mark.
Richie DeFulvio took the mat at 157 and engaged in a close battle throughout. Trailing by two points in the final period, the sophomore made several attempts to secure a takedown but ultimately fell by a 5–3 decision. Nick Bennet competed at 165 and also came up just short. After a back and forth first period that ended with Bennet flattening his opponent, the junior entered the second period trailing by one but was unable to regain the lead, dropping by decision.
At 174, freshman Jack Weldon opened with a cautious first period marked by extensive hand fighting. He surrendered a late takedown but earned an escape before the period ended. Seton Hill began the second period on bottom and quickly escaped to extend the lead. Weldon was unable to contain a takedown in the remaining periods and fell by a 4–2 decision.
Cole Dubois competed at 184 with the Marauders needing bonus points to remain within reach. Dubois established an early advantage with multiple takedowns and maintained control through all three periods. He narrowly missed a major decision, finishing with a 10–3 victory.
"We really had our backs against the wall going into 184, and Cole knew he needed bonus points to keep us in the match," said Head Coach Jerry Boland. "He kept attacking for three periods but came up just short of the major."
Jaxon Townsend carried that momentum into the 197 pound bout, dominating from the outset. Townsend recorded several first period takedowns and accumulated significant near fall points, nearly securing a pin before earning a technical fall at 3:57.
"Jaxon went out with the same mentality," Boland said. "Unfortunately, by that point the dual was out of reach, but he continued to work relentlessly for the fall. It was a strong performance by both him and Cole."
Heavyweight Kurt Scheuerman closed the night for Millersville. The sophomore opened with sustained hand fighting before being taken down and narrowly avoided a fall late in the first period, working off his back to continue the match. Seton Hill claimed the final bout with a major decision, sealing the Griffins' 24–12 victory.
"As we look ahead to tomorrow, it certainly doesn't get any easier," Boland said. "But that's one of the great things about our sport. Regardless of the result, you often get the opportunity to compete the next day. It's important for us to clear our heads and get after it."
The Marauders return to action on Sunday for their second PSAC dual of the weekend, facing No. 5-ranked Pitt-Johnstown at noon on the campus of Seton Hill.
