Marauders take on Shippensburg under the lights

ABOUT THE GAME

  • In the PSAC east standings, Millersville is seated in fourth place as they will take on Shippensburg, who is tied for last with Shepherd. The Marauders are 2–3 in conference play to the Raiders' 1–5 conference record. Millersville is looking to bounce back after their most recent loss to No. 14 Kutztown. on the contrary, Shippensburg is on a one-game win streak after edging Shepherd 13–12 to earn their first conference victory.  

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • Millersville is 6–4 on the season, with their four losses all to nationally ranked opponents. 
  • Millersville has shown significant improvement in less than a season. In the 2024 season, the Marauders finished 5–12; this current season, they have surpassed the number of wins obtained halfway through the season. 
  • On the offensive forefront, Millersville has a variety of playmakers. Six Marauders have scored 10+ goals, and two have 10+ assists. Ashlyn Simonetti leads the team in goals scored with a career-high of 31 and counting. Rachel Keeney leads the team in assists with 18, always thinking one step ahead to help put her team on the board.  
  • Katlyn Krebs has stepped up in all areas of the field to help support her team. Over the last three games, Krebs has stepped up and onto the circle to help the Marauder obtain possession of the draw, collecting 20 draw controls. She has also snagged 25 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers. 
  • Moraca has been stellar off the draw control. She has 69 draw control possessions averaging 6.90 draws per game.

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS

  • Shippensburg is coming off their first conference win against Shepherd, 13–12. Their offense was led by Ali Pioli and Brynn Hauck who scored three goals apiece.
  • Sara Vosburg leads the Raiders' attack in goals (34) and assists (23). She is ranked fourth in the PSAC in assists.
  • Wreaking havoc on the defensive end is Grace DeMarzio. The junior leads the team in draw controls (50) and ground balls (36) and causes turnovers (21).
  • The starting goalkeeper for the Raiders' is  Kayla Vosburg. The senior has started in every game, posting an 11.32 goals-against average. Vosburg has made 92 saves for a .453 save percentage. 
  • Shippensburg averages 12.55 goals per game, followed by firing about 30.1 shots. When placing the ball on the frame, the Raiders are most likely going to score, as they have a .813 shot-on-goal percentage. 

SERIES HISTORY

  • Millersville and Shippensburg will compete under the lights at Biemesderfer Stadium this upcoming Saturday. The Marauders hold the upper hand in the series of meetings as they have taken eight of the last 10 games played.
