ABOUT THE GAME

  • Shepherd, the newest opponent to join the PSAC East back in 2020, has a short meeting with Millersville. The two have only squared off since 2010. Millersville holds the upper hand between the two, Leading the series 15–2. In 2024, Millersville and Shepherd split in their two meetings. That was the Rams' first win over the Marauders since 2012. Millersville has played in eight games and holds an 8–5 record and a 4–4 PSAC East standings, while Shepherd is 4–8, including a 1–7 PSAC record.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • Millersville dropped their last game to nationally ranked West Chester. Despite the loss, Millersville was able to play at a high level in the first half to keep the game close, 9–6 while honoring the eight seniors who have put relentless time and effort into the program. 
  • Millersville has scored 176 goals this season and averages about 13.54 goals per game. The Marauders are team-oriented, as 95 of their goals have come from assisted play.
  • Multiple upperclassmen lead Millersville's attack. Leading the team in goals is Ashlyn Simonetti (38) and Kaleigh Funk (33). Rachel Keeney is up there with 27 goals and leads the team in assists with 27. Two more Marauders have landed in double-digits in goal scoring, Mary Moraca (23) and Ella Linthicum (21). Linthicum secured a hat trick on senior day to West Chester.
  • In their most recent 18–8 loss to WCU, Simonetti scored two goals and recorded two assists for a combined four points. 
  • Moraca has been stellar off the draw control. She has helped dictate possession in the middle of the field, snagging 91 draw controls. Katlyn Krebs has been a huge help stepping up on the circle to collect the draws and grabbing 32. 
  • Krebs and Hailey Jordan have helped contribute to the defensive success with a combined performance of 48 ground balls and 34 caused turnovers.
  • In the net for Millersville is KC O'Neill. The sophomore has started in all 13 games. Her record in net is 8–5. O'Neill holds a 12.12 goals-against average with 91 saves, averaging seven a game.

SCOUTING THE RAMS

  • Shepherd is 4–8 and on a six-game losing streak with their most recent loss to No. 14 Kutztown.
  • The Rams' offense revolves primarily around four attackers. Kelsey King leads the team in goals with 39; she also has six assists to her name. On the heels of King is Katie Paredes; she scored 37 goals and leads the team in assists with 26. Aubrey Harrison and Holly Poe are additional threats, scoring a combined 37 goals and recording 17 assists.
  • Defenders Luetta Seipp and Sydeny Witmer led the back line. Witmer has caused 28 turnovers and collected 49 ground balls. Seipp helped out causing 17 turnovers and collecting 27 ground balls. 
  • Destiny Rockwell is the starting goalkeeper for the Rams. The junior posted 13.14 goals against average and logged 134 saves. She ranks third in the PSAC in saves per game with 11.17.
  • The Rams have been outscored by opponents 158–135. The fourth quarter is where the team has their drop off, only scoring 25 goals in this quarter. 

SERIES HISTORY

  • Millersville and the Shepherd will embark on yet another PSAC East dual. The two have only seen each other 17 times between their meetings, and the Marauders hold the upper hand with a 15–2 series record. In their last 10 meetings, Millersville has gone 9–1 against the Rams.
