Box Score KUTZTOWN, Pa. — The shorthanded Millersville women's tennis team came away with a pivotal win over PSAC East Rival Kutztown, defeating the Golden Bears in a 5–2 win.
Like Sunday, the Marauders split the doubles slate to start the day, but due to only having two healthy pairings, the Marauders began the day trailing.
Chloe Abramowitz and
Luci Consigliere picked up a 6–4 win over Emma Semery and Ximena Bolanos.
'Ville turned it on once singles plan began, dominating the second half of play by winning each of the five matches played.
Hui Jen Soo worked from the top of the lineup, taking down Semery in a 6–4, 2–6, 6–2 match.
Lauren Hayes also bounced back by picking up a 6–2, 6–0 win over Bieke Roovers. Abramowitz and Consigliere both stayed perfect on the day by picking up three-set wins each. Abramowitz came out on top over Isabela de Nadai; 3–6, 6–4, 7–5, and Consigliere defeated Bolanos; 6–4, 4–6, 6–2. In the last match in the lineup,
Sophie Lanius swept Gabby Gentile; 6–0, 6–0.
The Marauders improved to 8–7 overall and 3–1 against PSAC East opponents, and the busy stretch of their schedule continues against Goldey-Beacom with their third dual in four days next up. 'Ville will host the Lighting at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16.
