LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Millersville University senior Drew Stover has spent the last two seasons putting his name in the record books, and he wrote a new line on Thursday when he became the sixth PSAC Eastern Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Year in program history. He and his front court partner, Saraj Ali, were named All-PSAC East First Team.
Stover joins the select company of Lance Gelnett (1992), Jon Dunmeyer (1993), Jamal Palmer (1998), and Charlie Parker (2007 and 2008) as Millersville players to win the division's top honor. Stover was a three-time PSAC East Athlete of the Week in 2024-25, averaging 17.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while ranking second in the PSAC in blocked shots (1.8) and field goal percentage (.660). He had six double-doubles and scored 30 or more points twice, including a 15 of 16 shooting performance against Lock Haven.
Stover, who was named All-PSAC East Second Team as a junior, set the single-season field goal percentage in 2024 and his current field goal percentage of .659 will break John Fox's career record that has stood since 1987.
Like Stover, Ali is also now a two-time All-PSAC East selection, earning first team honors for the first team. He was a second team honoree for Mansfield in 2024. Ali averages 14.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, and ranking 18th in the PSAC in scoring and tied for 12th in rebounding. He scored his 1,000th career point in Wednesday's PSAC Tournament game at West Chester.
It is the fourth consecutive season that Coach Casey Stitzel has coached at least one All-PSAC East First Team selection, and he has developed seven first teamers in the last four years.
