Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. — The Millersville women's tennis team kicked off its PSAC East competition with a win at West Chester, beating the Golden Rams, 5–2.
The Marauders top two pairs took control early on to give 'Ville the advantage through doubles play. In the top spot,
Hui Jen Soo and
Lauren Hayes took down Delaney Tingle and Alexandra Cave, 6–3. In the second slot of the lineup,
Chloe Abramowitz and
Luci Consigliere defeated Gabriella Lerario dos Santos and Felicia Manful by the same score.
Millersville's momentum from the play of those pairs carried over into singles play, starting with Hayes picking up another win on the day in a 6–1, 6–3 decision over Ashleigh Grooms. Abramowitz battled Cave in a three-set battle, taking the match 6–2, 3–6, 7–6. Consigliere picked up her second win of the day in her match against Lerario dos Santos, coming out on top, 6–4, 6–2. For the Marauders final win of the slate,
Sophie Lanius battled Manful and left with a 6-1, 6–2 win.
Millersville is now 5–5 overall and starts out 1–0 in PSAC East play, with a non-conference dual against Chestnut Hill next up on the schedule. The Marauders will host the Griffins at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22.
