Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. — Millersville men's tennis took on West Chester for its first PSAC dual of the season, winning 4–3 against the Golden Rams.
Strong doubles play fueled Millersville's success on the day, sweeping the early slate of matches.
Jasper de Koning and
Paul Bagnouls made quick work of Andres Urrutia and Mateus DeVasconcellos in a 6–2 win, and
Victor Suarez and
Sandor Wulf defeated Lucas Henke and Sam Robertson by the same score. Rounding out doubles play was the top duo of
Lino Morin and
Sebas Castro, who completed the sweep with a 7–6 win against Brady Burns and Felix Weber.
The Marauders top players led by example in singles play, with Morin and Suarez winning their individual matches. Morin bested Henke; 6–1, 6–4, and Suarez took down Urrutia by the score 6–3, 6–2. Needing one more point to clinch the win, Bagnouls came through for Millersville in the sixth spot in the lineup. The sophomore defeated Devin McBride 6–2, 7–5 to wrap up the dual.
Millersville is now 5–4 overall and 1–0 against PSAC opponents, with a non-conference matchup against Chestnut Hill next up on the schedule. The Marauders will host the Griffins at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25.
