| By:
  • Series vs New Haven: 0-0

ABOUT THE GAME

  • The Millersville Marauders (5-0) will encounter a new opponent, No.22 New Haven (2-1). This marks the first meeting between the Marauders and Chargers. Millersville has won their last five games, matching the games they won in the 2024 season. The Chargers are 2-2, with two dominant wins over Mount Olive and Molloy. The Chargers got edged by No. 23 Mercy in an 11–10 battle and fell to No. 12 Kutztown, 13–7.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • Millersville is now 5–0 and 1–0 in PSAC East play. The five consecutive wins match the amount of wins the team secured last season.
  • The Marauders have been persistent on offense and locked down on defense to obtain this undefeated start.
  • Millersville has four players in double digits from goals scored. Kaleigh Funk leads with 15, followed by Mary Moraca (13), Rachel Keeney (12), and Ashlyn Simonetti (11). As a group, Millersville has 12 players who have scored one or more goals.
  • Moraca has broken her career record of draw controls in a season of 45 in just five games. The junior logged a season-best against Wilmington, collecting 12.
  • Funk not only leads the team in goals scored (15) but also in assists (10) for a combined 25 points. She has scored at least two goals in each competition thus far and aided on one or more assists in four-out-of-five games.
  • Millersville currently leads the PSAC in several categories. They sit atop in goals for (81), draw controls (88), and average assists per game (9.60).
  • Defensively, Millersville holds the second best average of saves per game, right behind West Chester, with 6.40. This number speaks to how KC O'Neill has stepped up in the goal and the back line has taken initiative to protect their goalkeeper. O'Neill poses a 7.64 goals against average and a 5–0 record.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS

  • New Haven is 2–2 on the 2025 season but their losses come against nationally ranked opponents, Mercy (23) and Kutztown (12).
  • The Chargers have two primary targets on offense, graduate student Katie Schenk and senior Gianna Caprioli. Schenk leads the team in goals scored with 14 while Caprioli trails closely behind with 10. The two combined have scored 24 goals, almost half of what the Chargers have scored as a team (50).
  • Graduate student Karly King is the leader on defense. She commands the defense and leads the team in caused turnovers (5). From these turnovers, she has also been able to collect 10 ground balls.
  • Madeline Sage is the starting goalkeeper for the Chargers. The senior saw action in her younger years but did not earn the starting position until her senior year. In four games, Sage has a 2–2 record, 31 goals against to average 8.27 goals against per game, and 30 saves to average 0.492 saves per game.
  • Their offense has been able to outscore and assist teams. The Chargers have scored 50 goals to the opponent's 34 and tallied 25 assists to the opponent's 13. They average 27.3 shots per game for a .771 shot on goal percentage.
  • Defensively, they have been outpossessed. Their opponents have outpossessed them in ground balls with the opposing team collecting 72 to New Haven's 67 and caused turnovers. Opponents have caused the Chargers to turn the ball over 41 times to New Haven's 26.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Millersville and No. 22 New Haven have never squared off head to head. The nationally ranked Chargers are predicted to win with their seeding but the Marauders have been on a hot 5–0 streak.
