Marauders knock off No. 20 Dominican as Waters hits a career high

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - Day Waters poured in a career-high 31 points and sparked Millersville to a 106-96 road win over previously unbeaten and 20th-ranked Dominican Wednesday night.
Dominican had already won three games by five points or fewer, but it was the road Marauders that closed the game's final four minutes with winning basketball. After Dominican sliced Millersville's lead to 90-87 with 3:58 to play, the Marauders scored 16 points on the next seven possessions. They went 6 for 6 at the line, and on the two shots they missed, Amir Cunningham grabbed offensive rebounds and scored--first with a three-point play that pushed the lead to 10 and on a put-back with 23 seconds left.
Cunningham scored a season-high 14 points on 5 of 6 shooting. Aamir Hurst, who also had a timely three-point play in the final minutes, scored 16 and added four assists without a turnover. E.J. Matthews-Spratley scored 14, sinking 2 of 3 from three, and Saraj Ali, who had missed the previous two games with an injury, returned to the lineup with 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
The balanced offensive effort helped the Marauders finish, but Waters carried the Marauders early. He scored 17 and sank 7 of 10 shots in the first half, and then scored Millersville's first 10 points of the second half.
The win was Millersville's third in a row, and it has scored at least 88 points in four consecutive games. Millersville shot a season-high 64.3% from the field and sank 8 of 16 threes. The Marauders also out-rebounded Dominican, 34-19.
