
Hepner named PSAC Swimmer of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Jewels Hepner celebrated Senior Day with four pool records, and on Tuesday, she was named the PSAC Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.
In Millersville's dual win over California (Pa.), Hepner won two individual events, setting Anttonen Natatorium records in the 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard individual medley relay. The record in the 400 was nearly seven seconds faster than the previous mark.
Hepner's 24.17 in the 50 free was a season best and moved her up to 13th in the PSAC this season. She cracked the PSAC's top-10 in the 200 breaststroke at 2:26.97.
Hepner is the second Marauder to win the weekly award this season, joining Jordan Plempel, who won it on Oct. 22. The team competes at the Villanova Sprintfest on Feb. 1 before prepping for the PSAC Championships on Feb. 17.
