Marauders open the New Year with a strong victory over Arcadia

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — The Millersville women's swimming team opened 2025 with a dominating 165-87 victory over the Arcadia Knights. 

The meet began with a strong start as the relay team of Jordan Plempel, Leah Eckert, Mackenzie Yosko, and Jewels Hepner took first in the 200-yard medley. 

The Marauders continued this momentum, earning first-place finishes in eight events. Anna Sassaman had strong showing in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.06. Jewels Hepner also posted a PSAC qualifying time in 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.15. 

Izabells Wreski (2:04.48) and Lindsay Robbins (2:05.36) went first and second in the 200 free, finishing less than a second apart from one another.

Leah Eckert, Jane McClelland, and Ava Adiletti continued this internal competition, taking the top three spots in the 50-yard backstroke. Eckert led the charge with a 28.96 finish. McClelland followed behind with a time of 34.08 and Adiletti finished .31 seconds behind taking third. Eckert swam first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.15.

Millersville improves to 3-2 on the season, winning their last three duals.

The Marauders are back in action Saturday in Anttonen Natatorium where they will host the Franklin and Marshall Diplomats at 1 p.m.
