Millersville cross country pegged fifth in PSAC Preseason Poll

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Expectations are running high for the Millersville women's cross country team following its best PSAC Championship finish in 13 years. The conference's coaches unveiled their annual preseason poll on Thursday, ranking the Marauders fifth in the 17-team conference.
Millersville placed sixth at the PSAC Championship in 2023 with All-PSAC finishes from Morgan Janiuk and Hannah Sweda. Both of those runners are back in 2024, leading a veteran roster intent on cracking the top five for the first time since 2010. Eight of Millersville's top nine runners from last season's championship are back on the roster.
Slippery Rock, the defending conference champs, earned eight first-place votes, edging Bloomsburg for the top spot in the preseason poll. Shippensburg also picked up three first-place votes, and East Stroudsburg was slotted in just ahead of Millersville.
Millersville's season begins on Friday, Aug. 30 with an Alumni 3K at Freedom Park in Millersville.
