Marauders qualify seven for PSACs at Hopkins Loyola Invite

BALTIMORE, Md. – Seven Marauders qualified for the PSAC Outdoor Championships as Millersville took second place in the Hopkins Loyola Invite.

- In the track events, the day started with Emma Elwell finishing the 100-meter dash in 12.50, just sneaking under the PSAC mark.
- Katelyn Murphy had another solid outing in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.02, and Lily LaBure qualified for PSACs with a time of 15.82.
- Aurora Conrad took fourth place in the 200-meter dash with 25.33, and Elwell was right behind her with a 25.49 time, as both qualified for the conference championships.
- In the 400-meter dash, Ashlyn Hickey qualified for PSACs with a time of 59.90 as she finished ninth.
- Morgan Janiuk finished again near the top of the leaderboard in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:05.99, and Hannah Sweda hit the PSAC mark with a time of 18:22.85 in her seventh-place finish.
- In the 4x100-meter relay, the squad of Darian Hauf, Arianna Kouakou, Conrad, and Elwell won the race with a time of 47.76,
- In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of Shelby Derkosh, Aubrey Sydnor, Mary Weiss, and Ashlyn Hickey won with a time of 3:57.22.
- Hauf and Malecki had another solid day in the pole vault, as Hauf was second with a jump of 12-1 1/2, and Malecki was fourth after clearing a height of 11-1 3/4.
- Chanel Hercules and Aubrey Bitner built on their season in the long jump, as Hercules was third with 18-7 1/4, and Bitner was fourth 18-1 3/4 while qualifying for PSACs.
- Danika Bolinsky finished inside the top five in the triple jump, with her best result being 35-1 3/4.
- In the throws events, the Marauders held plenty of spots inside the top three. Sarah Hessler and Maddy Downs finished first and second in the discus throw, Hessler winning with a throw of 131-5 and Downs behind her with 129-6.
- Seya Trujillo took second place in the hammer throw with 153-4, and Downs was third with 149-1.
- Hessler had another top finish with a second place throw in the shot put of 40-2 1/4.
- Mikaela Wolf scored third place in the javelin throw with a distance of 114-6.

- The Marauders have one last meet before the conference championships at 9:00 a.m. next Saturday, April 27 in Shippensburg, Pa. in the Paul Keiser Classic.
