Zablackis finishes third in heptathlon at Messiah Invite

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – With two meets this weekend, the Marauders sent two athletes to compete at the Messiah Multi and Invitational. Sabela Zablackis was the highlight of the meet for the Marauders, placing third in the heptathlon.
Zablackis finished with 4,053 points in the event, the seventh best finish in program history. Maddie Stebila also competed in the heptathlon, finishing 10th with 3,350 points. Zablackis started the event with a win in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 15.15 seconds. Zablackis grabbed fourth place in the high jump with a jump of 4-11 3/4, and Stebila was right behind her with a jump of 4-10 1/2. Millersville had a good showing in the shotput part of the event, with Stebila finishing well in first place with a throw of 34-10 1/2, and Zablackis in third with 30-6 1/4. Zablackis continued to succeed in the track portion of the event, finishing fourth in the 200-meter dash in 27.64, and also fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:36.77. Stebila also had a strong outing in the javelin throw, ending as the runner-up with a thorw of 92-6.
The Marauders weekend continues at noon tomorrow in the Bucknell Bison Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa.
