Marauders secure one win on weekend trip up north

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Erie, Pa. – On a road trip to northwest Pennsylvania, the Marauders defeated Edinboro 5–2 but fell to Mercyhurst 6–1.

The Marauders battled against the Fighting Scots, nearly coming away with an even more dominating win, as two of the three matches dropped required a tiebreaker. In doubles play, Noelle Htwar and Hui Jen Soo led the way with a 6–4 win in the first match, and Chloe Abramowitz and Sido Rault followed suit with a 6–2 win. In singles action, Soo won 6–3, 6–1, Abramowitz won 7–6, 6–0, and Rault also won 6–1, 6–1. Luci Consigliere filled in for the Marauders in the sixth spot and showed out witha 6–4, 6–1 victory.

However, the Marauders did not have much success the next day against the Lakers. Millersville was unable to win a doubles match, and Sophie Lanius was the lone Marauder to win her singles match, coming out on top with a 7–6, 4–6, 1–0 victory.

After splitting the weekend, Millersville is 5–6 and will host Franklin & Marshall at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 at McComsey Tennis Courts.
