Millersville is nationally ranked for the first time since 2007
WILMINGTON, Del. - For the first time in 17 years, Millersville men's basketball has entered the national rankings. After running their record to 22-4 with a win over ranked East Stroudsburg, the Marauders entered the Division II College Sports Communicators (D2CSC) Top 25 at No. 20.
The Marauders last appeared in a national poll in 2007, when they entered the NCAA Tournament at No. 12 in the NABC Poll. The 2023-24 Marauders are off to their best record through 26 games since that 2006-07 season and sit one win away from a program record for PSAC wins. Millersville also owns a one-game lead in the PSAC East standings with two games remaining.
Millersville has two wins over nationally ranked teams this season, beating now-No. 4 Gannon 99-78 on Dec. 30, and now-No. 19 East Stroudsburg 93-88 on Saturday. There are four PSAC teams ranked in this week's D2CSC Poll with Cal U coming in at No. 8.
In addition to eight consecutive wins, Millersville has won 15 of its last 16, scoring 81 or more points in eight straight games.
Millersville averages 82.9 points per game, shooting 50.1% from the field and 37.6% from three, ranking second among PSAC teams in both categories. Day Waters leads the PSAC in 3-point shooting, Drew Stover leads the conference in field goal percentage, Matt Dade is seventh in scoring (18.4), and Jaden Faulkner and Jahme Ested rank third and 10th respectively in assists.
The Marauders host West Chester Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
