MECHANICSBURG, Pa – After a quick turnaround time, three Marauders finished at the Messiah Open with three wrestlers placing.
Dom Flatt placed seventh in the 125-pound weight class. Flatt accumulated a record of 3-2 along with two technical falls and an injury win to secure his placement. Colin Higgins placed fifth in the 133-pound weight class. Higgins also boasted a 3-2 record complimented by a fall and two technical falls to claim his spot on the podium. Tyler Hurst claimed the fourth place spot in the 184-pound weight class. After six matches, Hurst went 4-2 along with two falls and two gritty decision wins to secure his title.Â
Other notable performances came from Matt Morris going 2-2 on the day. Morris at 149-pounds, logged a major decision and decision win before falling in his final match to a medical forfeit. At 197-pounds, Bruce Vaughan also tallied a 3-2 record. Vaughan logged two falls and a decision win. Vaughan almost went 4-1 on the day but fell short in a sudden victory matchup to Josiah Murphy from Liberty.
