LORETTA, Pa. - Millersville women's swimming swam its first dual of the season with a test against Division I Saint Francis Saturday. The Marauders posted eight PSAC Championship qualifying times, and freshman
Izabella Wreski cracked the all-time top-10 in the 1,000-yard freestyle as the Marauders fell, 182-80.
Wreski swam an 11:05.24, placing third in a race won by teammate
Jane McClelland. Both swimmers posted PSAC cut times. McClelland, who already holds the No. 2 time in program history, posted a 10:56.61. Wreski came in at 11:05.24. Wreski also swam a PSAC cut time of 2:35.61 while finishing fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke.
In addition to McClelland's win,
Jordan Plempel scored first-place finishes with PSAC cut times in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.78) and in the 200-yard individual medley (2:15.49). Plempel made it three PSAC qualifying times on the day with a 25.44 in the 50-yard freestyle.
McClelland also swam third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:28.81.
Jewels Hepner punched her ticket to the postseason with a 56.24 and third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle and a 2:01.71 and runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle.
Leah Eckert added to the PSAC cut times with a third-place finish and 1:10.20 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Millersville makes its home debut on Saturday, Nov. 2 against East Stroudsburg.
