GETTYSBURG, Pa. - With the PSAC Championship seven days away, Millersville cross country rested the top of its lineup Saturday at Gettysburg's Aubrey Shenk Invitational, giving an opportunity for the team's youth to shine.
Millersville, with 14 runners competing, finished 15th out of 21 teams. Liz Schaefer led the team with a 79th-place finish, running a personal-best time of 24:45.4. Emma Armstrong's 25.18.6 placed her 96th. Caley Kuestner finished 112th with a PR time of 25:42.5. Mary Ann Benko crossed in 26:22.2 for 136th place and Morgan Klaiss rounded out the top five with a time of 27:04.7 and in 150th.
Millersville now puts full focus on the PSAC Championship, hosted by Kutztown on Oct. 26. That event is followed by the NCAA Atlantic Regional at Lock Haven on Nov. 9.
"The team is very fit right now," said Millersville head coach Andy Young. "We are excited to get after the PSAC meet at Kutztown next week."
