YORK, Pa. - Millersville women's swimming opened its season Friday at the site of the 2025 PSAC Championships, going up against most of the same teams it will see in February. The Marauders placed sixth out of nine teams in the Sprint Frenzy before shining in the PSAC Fall Invitational with a third-place finish across 14 events.
The Sprint Frenzy focused on short-distance relays and individual events in the 50-, 100-yard distances. The PSAC Fall Invitational included 100-, 200- and 400-yard races.
A trio of Marauders accounted for four PSAC Championships qualifying times.
Jewels Hepner placed third with a PSAC cut of 52.53 in the 100-yard freestyle.
Jordan Plempel placed third in the 100-yard individual medley (1:01.74) before recording a pair of PSAC qualifiers in the later session. Plempel punched her postseason ticket in the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.19) and the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.71). She finished fifth and sixth in those events respectively.
Leah Eckert also swam a PSAC qualifying time in the 100-yard breaststroke, placing fourth with a time of 1:10.34.
Claire Weaver placed fifth out of 32 swimmers in the 50-yard backstroke in the 50-yard backstroke.
The Marauders performed well in the relays. Hepner, Plempel, Eckert and
Mackenzie Yosko took fifth in the 400-yard medley relay. The same quartet took fourth in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:52.36.
Millersville competes in its first dual of the season on Oct. 19 at Saint Francis.
