
Waters named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Millersville University's Day Waters has been named the PSAC Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week for his performances in road wins over Shepherd and Mansfield.
Waters helped the Marauders extend their winning streak to six by allowing just 54.0 points per game and 39.1% shooting on the week. Millersville held Shepherd to 44 points--the fewest allowed by Millersville team since 2012. Mansfield managed just 64 points and was limited to 4 of 20 shooting from three.
Waters, a 6-4 wing, played a key role in those defensive efforts. Against Shepherd, Waters blocked a career-high three shots, recorded two steals and matched a career-high with nine rebounds. At Mansfield, Waters recorded a steal and led the team with seven boards.
It is the first PSAC weekly award for Waters, who has also become one of the conference's top shooters in 2023-24. Waters averages 13.2 points per game while shooting 45% from the field, 43.3% from three and 84.2% from the line. He ranks third in the PSAC in free throw shooting and fifth in 3-point shooting.
Millersville, 13-3 overall and tied for first in the PSAC East with an 8-2 conference record, is back in action Wednesday at home against Kutztown.
