Men's tennis returns to Bloomsburg for ITA Atlantic Regional

Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Marauders men's tennis team returned to Bloomsburg for the second straight week, competing in the ITA Atlantic Regional.
 
Competing in singles play was Valentin Ebner, Dylan Tull, Zach Pernia, and Victor Suarez. Tull and Pernia were able to win their opening matches but did not advance past the round of 32. Tull squared off against Ricardo Starosta from West Virginia Wesleyan College, dropping the first set, but making a comeback victory to advance by the score of 3–6, 6–3, 10–1. Tull was knocked out of the singles bracket the following round, falling 6–7, 7–5, 4–10. Pernia also made a comeback win in his first match, defeating Kan Watanabe from Fairmont State University 4–6, 6–4, 10–6. Pernia was eliminated from the singles bracket the next round, dropping the match 6–3, 6–0.
 
In doubles play, the three duos that competed were Tull and Pernia, Valentin Ebner and Lino Morin, and Breno Maciel and Victor Suarez. Tull and Pernia won their first match against a duo from Frostburg State University 6–3 but fell in the round of 16 by the score of 6–4 from a duo from West Virginia State University. Ebner and Morin won a tightly contested first match against a West Virginia State University duo 7–6 but fell in the second round 4–6 to a Fairmont State University team. 
 
Next up for the Marauders is a home matchup against Daemen at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24.
