Marauders score second-straight PSAC East win

| By:
Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis continued its winning ways against PSAC East opponents, beating East Stroudsburg 6-1 Tuesday at McComsey Tennis Courts to improve to 2-0 in division play.

The Marauders are now 3-6 overall but have won 11-straight PSAC East matches dating back to 2021.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Even with Maria Ojeda resting in singles, the Marauders had no problem dispatching the Warriors, who managed to win one match and just four total games in the other six matches. Millersville benefited from an ESU forfeit at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, but Millersville did more than enough to get the win without the help. In doubles, the Marauders received a 6-2 win from Noelle Htwar and Hui Jen Soo and a 6-0 blanking at No. 2 singles by Ojeda and Chloe Abramowitz
• In singles, Soo moved up to the No. 2 spot for the first time and won by  6-0, 6-1 score. Abramowitz (No. 3) and Sophie Lanius (No. 4) both shutout their opponents, 6-0, 6-0. Joanna Newton won 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 5 flight.

REACTION FROM COACH MATT HELSEL
• "We are playing some pretty good tennis. Noelle had a tough match, and we rested Maria today, so winning without getting W's from our two best players speaks well of our depth.."

UP NEXT
• Millersville steps out of conference play to take on Goldey-Beacom at home on Thursday, March 30.
