
Marauders make history with best team finish at PSAC Championships

YORK, Pa. – The Millersville Marauders finished seventh place at the PSAC Championships recording the highest finish in team history. The Marauders accumulated 534 team points over the last four days, outscoring their previous program record by 137.
The Golden Rams of West Chester won the team title with 1,670 points while IUP and Bloomsburg finished second and third with 1,033 and 840 points respectively. The final day of competition included the 1,650 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, and 400 free relay. The final relay was the difference between seventh and eighth place for the Marauders.
DAY FOUR HIGHLIGHTS
"We had a great meet! The whole team stepped up and performed. Great contributions from the whole team in the pool and out. The team scored the most points in team history by 137 points and achieved the highest team finish ever by getting seventh. We stepped up even more on the last night and it came down to the final relay. The team did fantastic!"

The PSAC Championships concludes the 2022-23 season for Millersville. The Marauders finished with an overall record of 6-3. The team graduates just one senior in Maddi Stoner.

DAY FOUR HIGHLIGHTS
- Jane McClelland finished 12th in the 1,650 free with a time of 18:01.83. Teammate Rebecca Yeager took 16th in the event with a time of 18:33.20.
- Jewels Hepner took 10th in the 100 free with a time of 53.21. She improved nine spots and shaved a full second off her time from her 2022 PSAC Championships performance.
- Claire Weaver took 14th in the 200 back with a time of 2:09.13.
- Leah Eckert placed 11th in the 200 breast (2:26.75) with teammate Jordan Plempel finishing not far behind in 18th with a time of 2:28.37.
- The 400 free relay team of Leah Miska, Weaver, Plempel, and Hepner finished in seventh place with a time of 3:34.87. It was the fastest time of the season, beating their performance in November at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational (3:36.49). The team was just shy of the all-time record of 3:34.26 set in 2013 at the PSAC Championships.
