Millersville cross country caps season with sixth-place finish at NCAA Regional

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Millersville women's cross country team placed sixth in a 25-team field for its best NCAA Regional Championships finish since 2010.
The Marauders, who placed sixth at the PSAC Championships two weeks ago, was the No. 4 finisher among PSAC programs Millersville compiled 211 points, finishing just seven behind Shippensburg. Millersville's top three finishers placed in the top 40.
"We ran our best team race when it counted most," said Millersville head coach Andy Young. I'm very proud of this group...It was a strong team effort."
Morgan Janiuk led the Marauders by placing in 27th with a season-best time of 22:05.6 while Kaycee McCullough took 36th in a career-best 22:33.4, which stands as the ninth-fastest 6K time in program history. Hanna Seda and Olivia Sunderland also posted PRs and all-time top-15 times at 22:37.3 and 22:41.2 respectively. Bri Pollock moved into the top 20 times for a Marauder with a 23:09.7, placing 69th.
"We put ourselves within striking distance of a spot at NCAAs," said Young. "Considering how far this team came from last year, it was a fun ride this year and today."
Millersville's season comes to a close with the event, but the Marauders turned in their best finishes at both postseason races in 13 years, improved by seven spots at the PSAC Championships and eight spots at the regional.
