ATHENS, W.Va. - A 2-0 start to the season has Millersville men's basketball moving up the rankings. This week, the Marauders were voted No. 9 in the D2CSC Atlantic Region Poll.
The poll, voted on by a committee of college sports communicators, saw significant shake-up after the first weekend. Three new teams entered the top 10 while three teams moved up at least three spots and three teams dropped spots.
The Marauders are one of only four teams in the PSAC to make it through the first weekend unscathed. Millersville earned wins over regional opponents Livingstone and Virginia Union. Virginia Union had started the season in the poll's top 10 based on its NCAA Tournament run in 2022-23.
West Liberty was the only team that held its place. The Hilltoppers, who finished as the national runner-up last season, beat Shippensburg and Seton Hill to start 2-0.
Millersville travels to 1-1 Bowie State for another Atlantic Region match-up Wednesday night. Bowie State started its season with a 64-61 win over Lock Haven before falling 82-61 to Cal U on Saturday.
