Marauders set for home opener against Saint Francis

ABOUT THE MEET

  • The Millersville swim team is back in Anttonen Natatorium for a dual meet against Saint Francis. Coming off a 6-3 season, with a seventh place finish at the 2022 PSAC Championships, the Marauders look to grow and improve as a team. First year head coach, Evan Anthony was pleased with how his team performed at the PSAC Fall Frenzy to start the season. He felt his swimmers demonstrated their talents throughout several events and are ready to compete on Saturday. 

 

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS 

  • The Marauders opened their 2023-24 season at the PSAC Fall Frenzy where they competed against Clarion, Edinboro, East Stroudsburg, IUP, and Lock Haven. Millersville finished fourth, scoring 598.5 points. 
  • Jewels Hepner, Jordan Plempel, and Jane McClelland each swam PSAC cut times in their individual event. 
  • At the conclusion of the individual session, Millersville found themselves in third place with 615.5 points.

 

SCOUTING THE RED FLASH 

  • The Red Flash are coming off a 4-4 record from the 2022-23 season, where they finished fifth at the Northeast Conference Championship. 
  • Saint Francis opened their season on Oct. 3 at the Colgate Invitational. After two days of competition the team finished in third place, scoring 682 points. 
  • At the Colgate Invitational, the Red Flash had seven swimmers finish in the top three of their specific event. 

 

SERIES HISTORY 

  • This will be the second time in the program's history that these two teams with face off. Their last matchup came last season on Jan.14. The Red Flash outscored the Marauders 194-66.
