ABOUT THE MATCH
- Following their 3-0 win over Shepherd, the Marauders traveled back home to begin preparing for Wednesday's match against Shippensburg. Millersville's offense dominated during their last competition against Shippensburg on Sept.13. Connor Fiadino gave the Marauders an early 1-0 lead off an assist from Fallou Cissse. Then, to kick start the second half, Jake Altimore scored on a penalty kick that was quickly followed by a third goal from Bob Hennessey. Shippensburg scored one goal in the 76th minute of play to break the shutout, but the Marauder defense was able to maintain the lead and secure the victory.
SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS
- Millersville currently sits in second place of the PSAC East standings with an in-division record of 3-1-2. With their win over Shepherd, the Marauders improve to 6-2-3 on the season with their two losses coming from West Chester and Mercy.
- The Marauders have been tough to beat on both sides of the ball. Nine different Marauders have contributed to the Millersville offense this season scoring 19 goals, averaging close to two goals per game. On the other half of the pitch, the Marauder defense has allowed just 13 goals, with goalkeeper Travis Holiday recording 22 saves and four shutouts.
- Roy Parkyn played a dominant role in the Marauder's win over Shepherd. Parkyn scored the game winning goal in the 16th minute of play, as well as assisting Josh Rodriguez on his goal in the 52nd minute.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
- Shippensburg currently sit in sixth place of the PSAC East with a conference record of 1-4-1 and an overall record of 4-4-2. This is an improvement for the Raiders after last season where they finished conference play without a victory (0-8-4).
- Ashton Davies has played a big role in the Raider offense with two goals and two assists. Darius Bamfo, Luke Kramer, Dalton Shifflett, and Nathan Weldon have each record two goals as well.
- Shifflett was named PSAC East Athlete of the Week after his game winning goal against Cal U and his goal against Lock Haven.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Marauders currently lead the series 17-4-3 with an undefeated record (9-0-1) at home.
- Millersville has scored 53 goals, in 24 games, while only allowing 28.
- Since the loss on Oct.15, 2017, the Marauders have gone unbeaten against the Raiders with just two ties.
