SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - For a third-straight game, the Freshman point guard Marin Miller led the Marauders in scoring with her double-digit performance in Saturday's match-up. Miller tallied 25-points which creates a new season-high for the point guard, going 6-for-10 on the floor and draining 4-of-6 three-pointers. Miller also grabbed three rebounds and made two steals and assists.
Millersville (8-5, 3-4 PSAC) notched their second road win of the week over Shepherd (0-12, 0-7 PSAC). The victory over the Rams marks Millersville's first win over Shepherd since the 2017-18 season and Millersville's first win at Shepherd since 1999.
In her first start of the season, Bria Beverly was the second leading scorer for Millersville, shooting 60% from the floor and making 3-of-6 free throws for 15-points. Beverly also grabbed seven rebounds for the Marauders. Making an impact off the bench was Jabria Ingram who scored her personal best of 12-points while also grabbing six rebounds and dishing out two assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Millersville pulled away early in the first quarter, outscoring Shepherd 13-4 in the first seven minutes of action. The Marauders forced nine turnovers and generated eight-points from Shepherd's mistakes. Holding the Rams to scoring 11-points, Millersville held a seven-point advantage heading into quarter two.
- Creating an 11-point lead from a Makiah Shaw layup, Millersville stretched the score 25-14 and looked to be generating offensive flow. With five minutes till the half, Shepherd capitalized on missed shots and turnovers by the Marauders to outscore Millersville 9-2. Shepherd shrunk Millersville's first quarter cushion to trail by four-points at halftime.
- After three lead changes, Shepherd held a one-point lead with 1:08 remaining in the third. The Rams made two free throws and extended their lead to three-points, looking to hold an advantage to enter the fourth. Miller and Ingram both drained three-pointers with 0:34 seconds remaining to hand the lead back to Millersville. Shepherd made two free throws to head into the final quarter trailing 42-43.
- The Marauders outscored Shepherd 26-14 in the fourth to help create a safe distance to secure the road win. The Rams got within three-points of Millersville with under six minutes remaining, but Millersville answered with a 9-2 run to stretch their lead to double-digits. The Marauders were sent to free-throw line five times in the final minute of regulation to score nine additional points, beating Shepherd with a score of 69-56.

- Brenna Ortwein grabbed eight rebounds to lead Marauders for a second-straight game. Ortwein also tallies two steals and assists.
- Taylor Langan scored nine-points, grabbed seven rebounds and led the team in steals with four.
- The Marauders shot their best from the floor in the third, making 6-of-11 shots.
- Millersville held Shepherd to shooting 30.77% from the floor in the second quarter.
- Millersville held the edge in points off turnovers (28-19), second chance points (6-5), and bench points (15-11).
