MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Millersville women's lacrosse team fell to No. 7 West Chester Wednesday night. The Marauders kept the game close throughout first-half play, scoring four goals to West Chester's eight, resulting in just a four-goal deficit to overcome; however, the one-loss Golden Rams showed why they're nationally ranked in the second half, outscoring 'Ville 10-3 to earn an 18-7 victory.
Gillian Zimmerman led the Marauders with three goals, while four other Marauders scored one in the loss.
Morgan Scott recorded nine saves in goal, she now moves to 8-5 in net this season.
The Marauders fall to 8-5 overall and 4-4 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East play, while West Chester improves to 10-1 and 7-1 in PSAC East play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Gillian Zimmerman and West Chester traded goals for the first six minutes of play, as Zimmerman scored two to the Golden Rams' three. West Chester was able to score one more goal before the half to take a two-goal lead heading into the second. Â
• Second-quarter play mirrored the first, as the Golden Rams won the quarter 4-2, bringing the score to 8-4 through 30 minutes of action.
• West Chester outscored 'Ville 10-3 in the second half, while outshooting the Marauders 21-6 in that time.
Rachel Keeney,
Kristi Kada, and
Kaleigh Funk all scored goals in the half - Funk's score marked the first of her Marauder career.
