ABOUT THE DUAL
- The 15th-ranked Millersville wrestling team is shooting for its first-ever 2-0 start to PSAC dual action in Wednesday's home opener vs. East Stroudsburg. It is Millersville's first home dual of the season, and the team is coming off a 32-12 win over Shippensburg in which eight wrestlers earned victories. The Marauders are 3-0 against non-Division I teams this season.
- As always, the PSAC is a conference loaded with some of the best teams in the nation, and Millersville is currently the third highest ranked team from the PSAC with Pitt-Johnstown coming in at No. 6 and Gannon tied for No. 9 this week. Mercyhurst slotted in at No. 18 while Shippensburg was No. 23. The NWCA rankings are based on its Tournament Power Index. Millersville has already seen 133-pound Devin Flannery win two tournaments, and Millersville has accumulated 14 top-six finishes in two tournaments.
- Millersville has scored at least 30 points in all three dual wins. Millersville has also been outstanding at picking up bonus points as 44 of the wrestlers' 92 victories have been by pin, tech fall or major decision. Brandon Connor leads the team with four falls. Flannery owns three falls, three tech falls and a major decision.
Millersville wrestling has moved up to No. 15 in this week's @nwcawrestling Division II Rankings.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS
- Flannery has risen to No. 2 in the national rankings after an 11-1 start, and he is 10-0 against non-Division I competition. Now 45-14 in his career, Flannery has gone 14-3 in duals over the last two seasons.
- Connor and 149-pound Craig Cook are both ranked No. 8 nationally in their respective weight classes. Connor is 8-3 but has not lost to a non-Division I opponent. Cook wrestled up a weight class at 157 in the ESU Open and still finished as the runner-up. He missed time with an injury but returned to the lineup at Shippensburg and delivered an 8-0 major decision. Cook's two losses have both come by one point.
- Jonathan Parrilla, runner-up at the “Shorty” Hitchcock Memorial Open, will be in the lineup Wednesday at 157 pounds. Bryce Beatty has not wrestled a match yet and is the starter at 125 pounds. Tim Uhler gets the nod at 141 pounds and is 2-1 after a win against Shippensburg. 184-pound Anthony Giampietro has a pin, a major decision and a tech fall in his 5-2 record. Lucas Doyle starts at 197 pounds and is looking for his second dual win of the season. While Bishop McCoy was Millersville's 285-pounder against Shippensburg, Jordan Espinosa is in the lineup Wednesday. Espinosa is 5-3 and owns a first-place finish at the ESU Open.
- Among the Marauders early-season standouts is redshirt freshman Andrew Vogelbacher at 174 pounds. Vogelbacher is 11-4 with losses to wrestlers from Navy Prep, Clarion and George Mason. His last four matches have been low scoring affairs with neither wrestler scoring more than three points.
SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG
- East Stroudsburg has started the season 3-1 but opened PSAC action on Nov. 16 with a 41-6 loss to Pitt-Johnstown. The Warriors took first place at the Albion Invitational with Jacob Remolina (149), Byrce Parenti (157) and Luke Ciampa (165) combining to go 13-0 and taking first place on the podium.
- The 133-pound match-up is intriguing. Millersville's Flannery is expected to face Kelvin Rodriguez-Molina. While Rodriguez-Molina is 11-13 in his career, he is 3-0 in duals this season, 8-0 overall and has five pins already. Remolina is 10-1 with five falls but started the first dual of the season and has not been in the starting lineup since. Brian Lombardi (7-4) and Eric Falleni (8-3) have started in recent duals at 149. Ciampa owns a 9-2 overall record with six pins and is 22-9 in his career, presenting stiff competition for Millersville's Connor at 165. Parenti and Ciampa both earned wins against the Marauders last season, but Connor was not in the lineup for that dual. At 197 pounds, A.J. Hiller has started the last three duals and is 7-4. Hiller lost 4-2 to Millersville's Bruce Vaughan last season.
SERIES HISTORY
- Millersville can even the all-time series at 37 wins apiece with a victory on Wednesday. Millersville won 15 of the first 16 duals between 1946-1962, but East Stroudsburg has won 10 of the last 14 meetings. Last season, Millersville earned its first win over ESU since 2018 and scored its most points against the Warriors since 1982.
- The Last Meeting: Millersville 31, East Stroudsburg 13 (Feb. 12, 2022): Even with injuries keeping several wrestlers on the sidelines, Millersville won seven of 10 matches including three by pinfall. Bryce Beatty was among those who scored a pin. Flannery won a 10-8 decision over Zach Lewis. Giampietro defeated Josh Leidig by 8-0 major decision.
