Millersville Hopes to Bounce Back Against Kutztown Tomorrow

Bloomsburg, Pa. – The Edinboro Fighting Scots and the Bloomsburg Huskies defeated the Marauders Friday afternoon. The Fighting Scots beat the Marauders 133-72. Bloomsburg earned their victory with a score of 130-73. These are is the first losses for the Millersville women's swim team since April 3 of the 2020-21 season. 

Claire Weaver and Leah Eckert were both able to pull out first place finished for the Marauders. Eckert swam a PSAC Championship qualifying time of 1:08.33 in the 100-yard Breaststroke. Weaver also swam a PSAC qualifying time in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.36) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:21.97). 

Four additional Marauders were able to swim PSAC cut times in their individual events.
  • Kristen Maile in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.65) and 100-yard butterfly (1:00.92).
  • Jewels Hepner in the 50-yard freestyle (25:25).
  •  Jordan Plempel in the 400-yard IM (4:52.51) and 100-yard back stroke (1:01.01).
  •  Jane McClelland in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:57.07) and 500-yard freestyle (5:23.25)
The Marauders look to bounce back Nov 5. at 1 p.m versus the Kutztown Golden Bears. The Bears are 4-3 on the season, with their most recent win coming against East Strousburg on Oct 29. The Marauders last faced the Golden Bears last season on Nov.13, where Millersville took home a 151-89 victory.
