'Ville cross country closes season with 14th place at NCAA Atlantic Regional

MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Millersville women's cross country team closed its 2022 season by finishing in 14th place out of 21 teams at the NCAA Atlantic Regional.
Morgan Janiuk was Millersville's top finisher, taking 29th place out of 157 runners. Janiuk ran the 6K in 23:18.5, which was a 45-second improvement over her run on the same course two weeks prior at the PSAC Championships.
Abbey Sullivan ran her second-fastest time of the season, posting a 24:21.1 for 63rd. Kait Leister took 82nd in 24:51.8. Leister competed for the first time in more than a month. Hannah Sweda cut nearly 47 seconds off her PSAC Championships time and placed 86th. Breia Mayes rounded out the top five for Millersville, placing 96th with a time of 25:10.4.
"We improved a bit today from PSAC's," said Millersville head coach Andy Young. "We need to continue to work on staying consistent with training and a tough mentality."
Millersville totaled 356 points. Winning team, Charleston, scored 52 with five runners finishing inside the top 20. Edinboro's Kylie Anicic won the individual race with a time of 21:07.5.
