ABOUT THE GAME

  • The Millersville men's soccer will invite East Stroudsburg to Pucillo Field on Saturday, Oct. 22 for its regular-season finale. The finale, taking place over homecoming weekend, will serve as alumni day and feature the honoring of ‘Ville’s three seniors, Bobby Bosch, Ronnie Minges and Spencer Shortt. The senior day ceremony will begin 15 minutes prior to kickoff at 4:45 p.m.
  • Along with its festivities, the game will play a large role in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East postseason seeding. The Marauders, who have 10 conference games under their belt, currently hold the No. 2 spot with 18 points, while ESU has played nine conference games and sits at No. 4 with 16 points. Three teams from each division earn postseason berths.
  • The Marauders and Warriors met earlier this season in a match that ‘Ville won, 2-0. Zander Leik scored a goal late in the first half, while Christian Vorchheimer gave the team insurance late in the second. Bobby Bosch made a season-high 11 saves in the win.

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • After dropping their first two games in October, the Marauders caught fire, winning four straight and outscoring opponents 12-1.
  • As a team, the Marauders are outshooting opponents 260-145, including owning a 131-67 advantage on-goal. This has helped them outscore opponents 38-15.
  • The Marauder goal scoring has come from a variety of different places as six players have at least four goals in 2022. Zander Leik and Matt Lynch lead the group with five each.
  • Spencer Shortt continues to serve as the team's main facilitator and currently ranks second in the PSAC with nine assists. That mark also ties for ninth in the nation.
  • The 'Ville defense, led by Aaron Maynard, Mike Kreider and Ronnie Minges, has given up just three goals in the month of October (six games) -- two coming in a game played on Oct. 1. Goalkeeper, Bobby Bosch sports a 1.08 goals against average this season, which ranks second in the PSAC.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS

  • East Stroudsburg, despite being in postseason contention, ranks towards the bottom of the PSAC in goals scored this season. The Warriors have seen most of their goals come from Colby Raymond, Ethan Flickinger and Pieter Neerhof, who all have three this season. Stefen Melekos leads the team in assists with three.
  • The Warriros' defense ranks middle of the pack in the conference, holding a 1.47 goals against average. Goalkeeper, Helgi Hermannsson has started in net during the month of October and will be a new look for the Marauders as Brayden Evans served as the keeper in ‘Ville’s win earlier this season. Hermannson had given up five goals in just over 400 minutes in net, making 13 saves in that time.

THE LAST TIME OUT

  • Millersville:  - Millersville 2, Molloy 0 (Oct. 19, 2022) - After a scoreless first half of play, the Marauders used a five-minute stretch to take a two-goal lead over the Lions of Molloy. Peter Chol scored his first career goal to begin the run, before Matt Lynch notched an insurance goal five minutes later.
  • East Stroudsburg: No. 18 Mercy 1, East Stroudsburg 0 (Oct. 19, 2022) -  The Warriors gave the game's only score eight minutes into second-half action, which led to a one-goal loss to the nationally-ranked Mavericks.
