Millersville's Najdawi named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Millersville men's basketball's Caden Najdawi was a force in the interior for two PSAC East victories last week, and on Monday, he was named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week.

This marks the second time that Najdawi has won the division's weekly defensive award, having won it previously in March of 2020. Najdawi won his most recent award after averaging 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game as the Marauders swept East Stroudsburg and Bloomsburg.

Najdawi keyed Millersville's second-half comeback over East Stroudsburg, giving Millersville its first road win over the Warriors since 2009. He totaled 22 points and seven rebounds while also blocking a shot and recording a steal. In the route of Bloomsburg, Najdawi totaled 15 points and four rebounds and blocked two shots.

On the season, Najdawi is averaging 12.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and better than one block per game. He ranks sixth in the PSAC in rebounding and seven in blocked shots.
