Cross Country picks up win to open fall slate

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Millersville University cross country team started off their fall slate of races with a convincing victory on Saturday morning as the Marauders topped Elizabethtown College, and Franklin & Marshall College in the 2021 Diplomats Alumni Race.

- Millersville got off to a strong start on the 5k course, as several Marauders navigated near the front of the pack from start to finish.

- Jillian Miller had the best individual finish for Ville as the senior took fourth place overall with a time of 19:27.1.
- Miller finished just 5.9 second behind individual winner Alexis Salerno of Franklin and Marshall.
- "I'm very happy for Jill today, that probably is her best race since her senior year in high school. She has struggled with injuries but never stopped working hard at keeping a good attitude," Head Coach Andy Young said.
- Other top 10 finishers included Abbey Sullivan (6th) 19:36.2… Morgan Janiuk (8th) 19:53.6… and Kayce McCullough (9th) 19:57.7.
