Volleyball returns to Pucillo for first time since 2019

ABOUT THE GAME

  • Millersville finally returns to Pucillo Gymnasium after opening the season with nine consecutive road matches. This is the first home match for Ville since Nov. 19, 2019, which was 665 days ago.
  • Millersville was recently swept in the NSU Shark Invitational. Emily Hoffman earned all-tournament honors after totaling 23 kills, 33 digs, with six aces over the Marauders four weekend matches.
  • Holy Family is on a three game win streak after dropping their season opener against Assumption University on Sept. 4.
We are learning a lot about who we are, what we need to improve as a unit and what it will take from all of us (including coaches) to get to where we need to go. SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • Millersville opened the season on a promising note, winning two of the teams first three matches.
  • Ville has struggled of late, losing their last six matches over a pair of weekend tournaments. 
  • Caitlyn Callahan leads the team with 85 kills over her 35 sets. She is closely followed by Lauren Lucas who has totaled 83 kills over 33 sets.
  • Emma Ludwig has emerged as the primary setter for Ville, tallying 284 assists, good for 8.11 assists per set.
  • Hoffman and Lucas has been outstanding at the service line, as both student-athletes have recorded 15 aces on the season.
  • Becca Dalstad has been a force on the defensive end, recording 118 digs, nearly double the next closest Marauder. 
     

SCOUTING THE TIGERS

  • After starting the season with a 1-3 loss against Assumption, Holy Family has won three straight matches.
  • The Tigers recently swept their double header on Saturday, Sept. 11.
  • Holy Family has played less than half of the matches that Ville has played through the seasons first three weeks.

THE LAST TIME OUT

 

SERIES HISTORY

  • The series has been all Millersville with the Marauders winning four of the five matches between the two programs. All five previous matches came between 2010-2014. Ville won the most recent match by a final of 3-0 on Sept. 13, 2014. (Series History Stats)
