Women's tennis downs Shippensburg, 7-0

Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team kept rolling Tuesday at McComsey Tennis Courts, blanking PSAC East foe Shippensburg by a 7-0 score. 

The Marauders have won four of their last five duals, improving to 6-4 overall and 4-1 in the PSAC East. With the win, the Marauders clinched a No. 2 seed and a first round home match in the upcoming PSAC Tournament. Shippensburg's record fell to 1-4 (1-4). 

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Millersville won the doubles portion of the dual with three wins and a combined score of 18-2. The No. 1 team of Julie Wallace and Noelle Htwar and the No. 3 team of Maria Ojeda and Lauren Weaver both won by 6-0 scores. 
• The singles matches were equally as one-sided as the Marauders won all six in straight sets and no Shippensburg player won more than three games in any set. At No. 1 singles, Jasmine Morris scored a 6-1, 6-2 win over Skylar Walder, and Wallace followed with a 6-1, 6-3 victory against Jenna Sluymer in the No. 2 spot. Htwar (6-0, 6-1), Ojeda (6-0, 6-0), Kelsey Heckert (6-1, 6-2) and Weaver (6-1, 6-0) also registered victories. 

NOTES
• Heckert won her fifth consecutive match, improving to 7-1 on the season and 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Ojeda has won five-straight singles matches and has shut out her opponent in one set in three of the last four matches. Morris has won her last two matches at No. 1 singles. 
• The doubles team of Morris and Heckert is now 4-0 in PSAC East action. 

UP NEXT
• Millersville's regular season comes to a close Wednesday at home against Shepherd. The Marauders will host Bloomsburg in the PSAC Quarterfinals on April 24.
