Cobaugh and Juliano come up big, Millersville defeats Kutztown 11-9

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Grace Cobaugh and
Amanda Juliano totaled four goals apiece, including three consecutive for Cobaugh in the Marauders 11-9 victory against Kutztown at home. The victory snaps Millersville's two-game losing streak and comes on the heels of an upsetting loss against West Chester on Wednesday.

Genevieve Speight's goal in the first half marked her 100
th career point as a Marauder. The senior now has 83 career goals and 18 career assists.

Millersville now improves to 3-7 overall and 3-6 in the PSAC. Kutztown falls to 1-9 overall and 1-8 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless four minutes, Kutztown was the first to find the back of the net off a free position shot. It wasn't long before Juliano tied it up with her first goal of the game followed by goals from Speights and Cobaugh, and a second goal for Juliano to give the Marauders the 4-1 lead. Four unanswered goals by Kutztown gave the Golden Bears and single-point lead heading into the second half, 6-5.
- Kutztown tried to run away with a two-point lead early in the second half, but goals from Cobaugh, Juliano, and Sara Burney gave Millersville a single-point lead, 8-7, with 22 minutes left in the game. The Golden Bears tied it up once more, but Cobaugh and Juliano were there again to answer the call and give the Marauders back the lead, 10-8. Kutztown added one more goal, but Genevieve Speights secured the two-point lead once again with the final goal of the game. Millersville walked away with the 11-9 victory. Â

- Millersville held the advantage in shots (25-17), ground balls (15-10), and draw controls (14-8).
- Kutztown held the advantage in free position shots (7-6) and turned over the ball 15 times to the Marauders' 11.
- Juliano and Cobaugh led the scoring effort for Millersville with four goals apiece. Juliano added an assist for a team-high five points in the game. Cobaugh had the most shots with seven.
- Taiyana Goldsborough led the defensive effort for the Marauders with a team-high three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
- Cobaugh led on the draw for Millersville controlling seven.
- Kaleigh Sasdelli recorded all 60 minutes in net for the Marauders making four saves and scooping up three ground balls.
