Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Millersville men's tennis team punched its ticket to the postseason Saturday with a 7-0 sweep of West Chester.
The Marauders improved to 3-2 in PSAC play with Saturday's win. The Marauders have just one PSAC match remaining in the regular season. The PSAC Tournament begins with the semifinals on April 27.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The dual was all Marauders as each match went to Millersville in straight sets, and no West Chester player won more than four points in any set. In doubles, Millersville's No. 1 team of
Carlos Martinez-Lucas and
Frank Yanni won by a 6-1 score.
Ben Fellman and
Ting-Yu Yen paired for a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles, and
Santiago Ramos and
Zach Pernia blanked their opponent, 6-0.
• Millersville players shutout their opponents in six of the 12 singles sets. Martinez-Lucas rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 1 spot. Yanni was just as dominant, winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. Ramos, playing in the No. 3 spot, won 6-4, 6-0. Fellman notched a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4. Pernia won his second-straight match at No. 5 singles, this time by a 6-2, 6-1 score. Yen also won his second-consecutive match by a 6-0, 6-0 score.
NOTES
• Millersville is in the PSAC Tournament for the second-straight season. The Marauders made the tournament in 2018-19, and the 2019-20 season was canceled.
• Pernia is now 8-1 when playing at either No. 5 or No. 6 singles. Martinez-Lucas is 8-2 at No. 1 singles. Pernia and Ramos have won four consecutive matches at No. 3 doubles.

• All three of Millersville's remaining regular season matches are at home. The Marauders host Frostburg State Sunday and will recognize their seniors before the dual.
