Marauders are back in action with games against West Chester and Kutztown

ABOUT THE GAME 

  • Following a heart-breaking, overtime loss at home against Shippensburg, the Marauders return to Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium on Wednesday, April 14 and Saturday, April 17 to face West Chester and Kutztown at 4 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. 
  • Millersville lost the contests to both West Chester and Kutztown earlier in the season. The Golden Rams hosted the Marauders on March 20 and handed Millersville a 20-5 loss. The Golden Bears then hosted Millersville the following Tuesday, March 23 and won the contest by a single point, 12-11. 
  • Sara Burney leads the team in points with 22 off 12 goals and 10 assists, while Grace Cobaugh leads in goals with 13. 
  • Gillian Zimmerman and Genevieve Speights also hold double-digit scoring efforts with 10 and 11 goals, respectively. Speights also leads on the draw for the Marauders controlling a team-high 35 in eight games. 
  • Taiyanna Goldsborough continues to anchor the backfield for Millersville scooping up a team-high 26 ground balls and forcing 11 turnovers this season. Michella Salvitti follows close behind with 22 ground balls and 10 forced turnovers. 
  • Kaleigh Sasdelli continues to protect the net for Millersville recording 483:09 minutes in goal. She has made a total of 67 saves on 217 shots faced. 

 

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN RAMS

  • West Chester is currently 14-0 in the series against Millersville. Eight of the 14 games have been victories at home and six have occurred on the road. 
  • The Golden Rams have scored 269 goals against Millersville since the teams’ first matchup in 2009. 
  • Millersville has not scored more than eight goals against West Chester. The smallest margin of victory for West Chester was five goals in 2017. 
  • Tatum Altman leads the Golden Rams in scoring with 40 points off 25 goals and 15 assists. Her shot on goal percentage is 86.4% and she has three game-winning goals. 
  • Trisha Baud leads West Chester on the draw controlling 20 balls in seven games. 
  • Lexi Einsig and Molly Reinhart anchor the backfield with Einsig scooping up a team-high 19 ground balls and Reinhart forcing a team-high 21 turnovers. 
  • Julianne Clemens has started all seven games in net and had totaled 26 saves on 78 shots faced. 
  • West Chester is currently 7-0 on the season and in the PSAC with four victories at home and three on the road.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS 

  • Kutztown is currently 3-11 in the series against Millersville. Two of Kutztown’s victories against the Marauders have come at home and just one victory occurred on the road. 
  • The Golden Bears have scored 118 goals against the Marauders since the teams’ first matchip in 2008. 
  • The Marauders largest margin of victory was 13 goals in 2016 and their smallest margin of victory was a single goal in 2011. 
  • Kutztown’s has not defeated Millersville by more than three goals.
  • Morgan Hurd leads the scoring effort for Kutztown with 19 points on 14 goals and five assists. She has a shot on goal percentage of 77.1% and has had four free position goals off seven shots. 
  • Devon Fitzpatrick leads on the draw for the Golden Bears controlling a team-high 31 in eight games. 
  • Jenna Blesson and Brooke-Lynn Grim lead the defensive efforts holding team highs in ground balls (21) and caused turnovers (9), respectively. Blesson has also started all eight games in the net and has made 68 saves on 234 shots faced. 
  • The Golden Bears are currently 1-7 overall and 1-6 in the PSAC with their only victory coming at home against the Marauders on March 23.
