MILLERSVILLE, Pa.– Millersville women's basketball was unable to get things flowing on the offensive end of the floor Friday evening, dropping a cross-conference match to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West foe, Clarion. The Marauders fell 53-34, which is the lowest point total the program has seen since the 1981-82 season when the team dropped a road contest to Cheyney University, 104-21.
Millersville (1-4) hung in early, keeping the game within striking distance at the end of one, with the scoring sitting at 12-6; However, Clarion (2-5) would find a rhythm in the second quarter and didn't look back, leading to an eventual victory for the Golden Eagles. Jada Smith had a near 20-20 game, finishing with 19 points to go along with 18 rebounds in 35 minutes for Clarion.

Alyssa Rodriques each scored six points off the bench for
Sharay Hall and the Marauders.
'Ville will look to bounce back on a quick turnaround, as they face off with another PSAC West opponent tomorrow, Pitt-Johnstown. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time at Pucillo Gymnasium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Millersville took their only lead of the night at the five-minute mark in the first quarter of play curtsey of
Bria Beverly. Beverly came in off the bench and knocked a three-point shot down to give Millersville a 4-3 advantage. Clarion would finish the quarter on a 9-2 run to take a 12-6 lead going in to the second.

Atiya McDonald and Rodriques each scored out of the gate and brought the Marauders within four early in second quarter play. But the Golden Eagles would not be denied, ending the second similar to the first, on a 9-6 run to remain in control.
• Smith rolled in the third, scoring six points and grabbing five rebounds to extend her team's lead to 12 at the end of three.
• The Marauders went scoreless for the first nine minutes and 55 second of the fourth quarter,
Madison Grubb ended the drought with a three-point shot that came just over the one-minute mark. The Golden Eagles scored 12 in the quarter that led to their eventual 53-34 victory.

• Brown and Rodriques scored each scored nine in the loss. Grubb was just behind them with five.

Mia Leonard grabbed a team-high six rebounds on the night.
