  • Series Streak: - Kutztown, 2 Wins
  • First Meeting: - T, 0-0 (1994)
  • Last Meeting: - L, 1-2 (Sep. 9)

ABOUT THE GAME

  • The No. 4 seed Marauders will head to Kutztown on Tuesday, Nov. 9 to face off with the No. 1 seeded Bears. Millersville is looking for its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) postseason victory since 2018 when they defeated Seton Hill 2-0 in the Quarterfinals. Kutztown's most recent postseason victory also came in the Quarterfinals against Seton Hall in 2017 by a score of 3-0.
  • Kutztown has beaten the Marauders in both of the teams' two matchups this season. However, both games were decided by one goal and the second went into double overtime, as Kutztown scored a golden goal with less than five minutes remaining to win the game. Millersville is one of three teams to take the 17-1 Bears to double overtime this season.
  • The winner of this game will advance to play the winner of Gannon (West No. 2 seed) and Slippery Rock (West No. 3 seed) in the PSAC Semifinals on Friday, Nov. 12.
We need to recover and rebound for the game. The next two days will be focused on what we need to do to advance.
Head Coach Matt Procopio

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

  • Millersville is currently outscoring (25-21) and outshooting (211-186, 114-90 on goal) its opponents. The Marauders are also creating more corner opportunities (98-54) than opponents this far into the season.
  • Morgan Winchock has kept up the strong play up top for the Marauders. She has scored three goals in the last four games. This includes a two-goal performance in a 5-0 win over Mansfield, and a game-winning goal in the Marauders' most previous win over East Stroudsburg which clinched the final playoff berth in the PSAC East. She currently ranks No. 10 in the PSAC in game-winning goals with three. Winchock is the only Marauder that scored against Kutztown this season and will likely play a large roll in Head Coach Matt Procopio's game plan on Tuesday.
  • Emma Elwell has came alive for this Marauder team as of late. The forward has either scored or assisted in the last three ‘Ville goals, and has recorded two goals to go along with two assists in the last four games. Elwell assisted Winchock in the only ’Ville score against Kutztown earlier this season.
  • Lauren Downey currently leads the team in assists with six, five coming in the last 10 games. She currently sits at No. 3 in the PSAC in assists on the season. The redshirt senior has been a vital part of the Marauders'  postseason push.
  • Reagan Kolinski has recorded 69 total saves on the season, while allowing 21 goals.  She ranks top-10 in the PSAC in goals against average (1.177) and shutouts per game (.235). The Junior has recorded two shutouts in the last four contests.

SCOUTING THE BEARS

  • The Bears come into this matchup as the No. 1 team in the PSAC East and the No. 3 team in the nation with a 17-1 record, 15-1 in conference play. Their only loss on the season came against the No. 3 seed in the PSAC East, West Chester.
  • The Bears rank second in the PSAC in goals allowed (10) and corners (125), third in shots (293), and fourth in goals scored (36).
  • Kutztown's Kayla Argen ranks first in the PSAC in shots (83) and shots on goal (47), third in goals scored (10), fourth in game-winning goals (5), and fifth in points (24).
  • Brittany Arentz, Isabela Rossetti, and Alisea Munshower also play key rolls in the Kutztown offensive attack.
  • Emme Wolfel has shared time in goal with Cassandra Baker for the Bears this season but has made a majority of the starts. She has been solid ranking third in the PSAC in goals against average (.611) and seventh in shutouts per game (.385).

THE LAST TIME OUT

  • Millersville: Millersville 0, Bloomsburg 1 - The Marauders fell just short of a senior day victory against the No. 2 team in the PSAC East, Bloomsburg.
