
Cross Country concludes fall slate at Atlantic Regional Race

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Millersville University cross country team took 17th place out of the 22 teams competing in the 2021 NCAA Atlantic Regional Race, hosted by Lock Haven University.
Edinboro University successfully defended their 2019 title, taking first place with a team score of 73. The Marauders finished with 473 points, with an average time of 24:01 in the 6K race.

Millersville has concluded its fall slate, but the Marauders will be back in action this winter as indoor track and field begins their season under head coach Andy Young on Dec. 4 at the Diplomat Open.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Abbey Sullivan was the first Marauder to cross the finish line, taking 68th place with a time of 23:41.6 which was just over 2:30 behind individual champion Elise Leveel of Charleston.
- Jillian Miller was the next Marauder to finish, taking 82nd with a time of 23:56.3. She was closely followed by Kait Leister who took 87th at a pace of 24:03.1.
- The fourth Marauder was Kaycee McCullough, who took 93rd in 24:07.9.
- Hali Wagner and Hannah Sweda finished back-to-back, taking 98th and 99th respectively, finishing in 24:11.7 and 24:13.8.
- Sam Foster rounded out the race for Millersville, taking 109th in 24:34.2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Elise Leveel of Charleston took first place as an individual with a time of 21:09.9.
- Millersville had the smallest spread of any institution at 0:30.1 as the Marauders were one of just two teams to have a sub-minute spread.
- 'Ville improved one place from their 18th place finish in their prior Atlantic Regional appearance.
