
2020 Millersville Athletics Hall of Fame candidates finalized

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - With the Millersville University Athletics Hall of Fame committee set to meet in May and determine the 2020 hall of fame class, a list of 52 candidates has been finalized for consideration in 2020.
The list of 53 candidates includes 48 former student-athletes spanning seven decades as well as four teams and one former assistant coach. Men's basketball players Kenneth Kline '53, Charles Podlesny '55 and Joe Labatch '56 represent the decade of the 1950s, while Rachel Dickinson Latham '15 (field hockey), Lauren Sotzin Boltz '15 (2020), Conor Gilbert '15 (men's golf) and Chris Murphy '15 (baseball) are listed as first-time eligible nominees. Nominations for the hall of fame are accepted from the public year round, provided that the nominated candidate meets eligibility requirements. Athletes must have earned a bachelor's degree at Millersville and the time from graduation until hall of fame eligible is five years.
The hall of fame committee includes 12 voting individuals including former athletic administrations, alumni, hall of fame members and current athletics staff. Each year, the committee's votes determine a class of no fewer than three inductees and no more than seven. One sport cannot have more than two inductees in a year, and there must be one inductee with "old-timer" eligibility (35 years since graduation).
Following the committee's meeting in May, the official announcement of the 2020 class will be made after all inductees have been formally contacted by hall of fame committee chair and current director of athletic communications Ethan Hulsey. To nominate for the 2021 class, fill out the online form.

Melvin Allen '69 - Men's Basketball/Track and Field/Cross Country: Member of the basketball team, high jumper and member of the cross country team from 1965-69 as well as the founding member and first president of the Black Student Union.
Abbey Neff Anderson '01 - Women's Tennis: Three-time All-PSAC selection in singles and four-time selection in doubles while ranking second all-time with 92 singles wins and first all-time with 107 doubles wins.
Thomas Bargmann '10 - Men's Soccer: All-Atlantic Region and All-America honorable mention defender and magna cum laude graduate who helped the 2008 and 2009 teams to the PSAC Championship game and two NCAA Tournaments.
Lauren Sotzin Boltz '15 - Field Hockey: National defensive player of the year in 2013, two-time All-America selection, career record holder for wins and shutouts and the anchor to Millersville's national championship in 2014.
Jenna Craig Buckwalter '10 - Women's Basketball: Two-time All-PSAC East selection and the team's leading rebounder for three consecutive years while winning three PSAC East titles.
Bill Burke '93 - Football: Set Millersville records for catches, yards and touchdowns as a tight end and was a two-time All-PSAC East selection as well as an All-America Third Team pick in 1991.
Henry Callie '80 - Wrestling: Won a Division III national title at 118 pounds in 1978 and finished as the national runner-up in 1979; won the Theodore H. Rupp Award in 1980.
Jay Dimler '88 – Baseball: Three-time All-PSAC East selection setting school records for innings pitched, games started, complete games and strikeouts.
Andrew Dukes '14 - Men's Soccer: One of two Millersville players named All-PSAC and All-Atlantic Region four times and ranks in the top five in both career points and goals.
Chris Fagan '94 - Football: Two-time All-PSAC East Second Team selection and a four-year starter, setting single-season records for yards and completions while helping tema to the 1990 PSAC East title.
Frank Gantz '74 - Men's Basketball: All-PSAC East First Team pick in 1973 and 1974 in basketball and also an All-PSAC East First Team pick in baseball in 1974, earning status as one of the top 30 players in MU history during the 100-year anniversary celebration.
Corey Gast '08 - Men's Golf: A three-time All-PSAC performer, setting program record for career scoring average while holding two of the top three single-season scoring averages.
Wayne Geltz '72 - Men's Track & Field/Weight Lifting: PSAC champ in the shot put, earning fifth place at nationals and setting a school record in 1972; finished first in total weight, press and clean and jerk at the 1972 national Collegiate Olympic Weight Lifting Championships.
Conor Gilbert '15 - Men's Golf: 2013 PSAC champion and two-time All-PSAC performer, ranking sixth in career scoring average.
Alan Grasso '01 - Wrestling: A two-time NCAA Division I qualifier and two-time Theodore H. Rupp Award winner, he is one of six wrestlers in program history with 100 wins.
Dr. J. Luke Hadfield '90 - Football: Four-time All-PSAC East placekicker, leading the 1986 and 1987 teams in scoring; ranks third in career scoring.
Joe Hollister '04 - Football: The only Marauder to win the PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year award and a two-time All-PSAC East First Teamer despite missing an entire season with an injury.
Daniel Ireland '77 - Wrestling: Four-year starter and an All-American in 1977; coached high school wrestling for 40 years.
Joseph Irwin '74 - Football: Two-time All-PSAC East selection including a first team pick in 1973, earning NAIA All-America honorable mention the same season.

Joseph Labatch '56 - Men's Basketball: Scored 1,028 career points while helping the program to three consecutive "Saylor System" PSAC titles and NAIA Tournament appearances.
Allan Laskowski Jr. '65 - Men's Track /Cross Country/Football/Soccer: Lettered in four sports with track and cross country being his top sports; set a school record in the 880-yard run, mile relay and two-mile relay and was the top finisher for the cross country team at the 1965 NCAA Championships.
Rachel Dickinson Latham '15 - Field Hockey: Recognized as top female athlete in all of Division II as the winner of the Honda Athlete of the Year; voted NFHCA Player of the Year and national defensive player of the year in 2014 as Millersville won a national championship.
William Lauris '64 - Assistant Football Coach: Assistant coach at Millersville under Gene Carpenter for 30 years, serving as defensive coordinator for 17 seasons.
Larry Levy '87 - Men's Track & Field/Cross Country: All-PSAC in the 1,500 and 3,000 on the track and a PSAC runner-up in the 5,000; ran at the NCAA Cross Country Championships three times.
Kyle Loughlin '11 - Men's Soccer: 2009 PSAC East Player of the year and a two-time All-PSAC East First Team selection who ranks second in career assists, fourth in points and sixth in goals, helping team to a 57-19-4 record in four years.
Abbie Mahaffey '02/'05M - Women's Tennis: Career wins leader with 101 singles victories, winning the PSAC Tournament MVP and East Region Senior of the Year award in 2001-02; All-PSAC honoree four times.
Keith Mahaffey '03 - Men's Tennis: PSAC Athlete of the Year in 2002 and two-time All-PSAC First Team singles performer.
Kristen Manderachi '06 - Women's Lacrosse: Led the PSAC in groundballs and draw controls while earning three All-PSAC First Team selections and one second team selection; voted team MVP three times and was a two-time captain.
Meghan Edmiston Mellinger '01 - Cross Country/Track & Field: PSAC champ in the 1,500 and 3,000 on the track and an All-American in cross country in 1999; winner of the Elwood J. Finley Award in 2001.
Becky Morris McLoughlin '01 - Women's Soccer: Set Millersville records for goals (32) and points (84) and held the record for 18 years; two-time All-PSAC Second Team selection.
Aurielle Mosley '13 - Women's Basketball: The 2013 PSAC East Athlete of the Year and three-time first team selection set Millersville career records in blocks and rebounds while being the only player in program history two lead the team in rebounding and scoring three seasons in a row.
Chris Murphy '15 - Baseball: Only pitcher in PSAC history to win the PSAC East Pitcher of the Year Award three times, posting a 33-4 career record and 2.07 ERA while earning two All-America honors.
Mashira Newman '13 - Women's Basketball: The only player in program history to finish in the top five in points, assists and steals and the first-ever member of the 1,000-500-500 club; three-time All-PSAC East selection, setting the single-game record for steals with 11.
Frank Oslislo '67 - Men's Basketball: Ranks 11th in career scoring with 1,538 points, averaging 15.9 per game while also holding the single-season assist record with 7.5 per game in 1965-66.
Jamal Palmer '99 - Men's Basketball: Voted PSAC East Player of the year in 1999 and selected All-PSAC East First Team three times, totaling 1,434 career points and ranking in the top 10 in career rebounding and blocks.
Charles Podlesny '55 - Men's Basketball: Member of the 1954 all-state first team and helped his teams to two "Saylor System" PSAC Championships.
Dion Reed '88 - Football: Four-year starter, team captain and three-time All-PSAC East selection as a defensive back, setting the single-season record for interceptions and finished career ranking second all-time.
Lee Rizzotto '00 – Football: A two-time team captain and team defensive MVP led the team in tackles for three consecutive seasons while picking up two All-PSAC East First Team honors and a GTE Academic All-America honor in 1999.
Darren Ryals '97 - Football: Set Millersville's career record for interceptions while leading the team in picks and earning All-PSAC East First Team honors in 1988 and 1989; intercepted two passes for touchdowns in the NCAA playoff game vs. IUP.
Amy Seier '94 - Women's Track and Field: The 1994 PSAC Outdoor Championships Field Athlete of the Meet, winning two titles in the javelin and one in the shot put.
Ryan Schlegel '05 - Men's Soccer: The first men's soccer player to win the Elwood J. Finley Award and set school records for consecutive shutouts and longest scoreless streak while earning All-PSAC Second Team honors twice.
Zach Stone '14 - Baseball: The first player in program history to be named PSAC East Player of the Year also set career records for hits and RBIs and earned two All-America selections while being named all-region at three different positions.
Katrina King Swarr '94 - Field Hockey: Two-time All-PSAC First Team defender and an All-America selection in 1992; served as a team captain and earned academic All-America status and has gone on to a successful high school coaching career at Lampeter-Strasburg.
Toochi Udeinya '05 - Men's Basketball: Scored 1,424 points, ranks sixth in career rebounds and is one of only four players in program history to be named All-PSAC East four times.
Eric Yankowy '91 – Men's Basketball: Two-time All-PSAC East Second Team selection in two healthy seasons with the Marauders, finishing with 1,665 points and helping team to the NCAA Elite 8 in 1989.
Curtis Yeager '05 - Wrestling: Three-time East Region champion and one of three Marauders to qualify for the NCAA Division I Championships three times; PSAC runner-up in 2005 and won 86 career matches.
Jeremy Yoder '11 - Men's Soccer: Two-time All-PSAC East First Team and All-Atlantic Region First Team, became the first Marauder since 1991 to earn All-America recognition while helping teams to two PSAC Championship appearances and a 57-19-1 record over four years.
Dr. Richard Zinck '75 - Wrestling: Posted a 58-18 career record as a four-year starter and team captain, placing fourth and sixth at the NCAA Division III Championships for two All-America finishes; winner of team MVP award in 1975.
1990 Women's Track and Field Team: First of three consecutive PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship teams featuring 12 All-PSAC performers and three champs.
2011 Men's Soccer Team: Winner of Millersville's first PSAC men's soccer championship and reached the NCAA Semifinals.
1969 Men's Track and Field Team: Won first PSAC Championship for the men's track and field program while going undefeated in dual meets.
1970 Men's Track and Field Team: Won a second-straight PSAC Championship while going undefeated in duals for the second year in a row.
