MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Millersville University Director of Athletics Kate Corcoran has announced the hiring of Dan Ross to the position of Director of Athletics Development.
Ross, a native of Lancaster, Pa., comes to Millersville after serving as the Chief Development Officer at Attollo Prep in Lancaster. In that role, he led fundraising efforts through cultivation of gifts and securing over $1.5 million in state funding while also growing his staff. Ross' work during the 2025 ExtraGive made Attollo the top-ranked organization in the county for unique individual donors.
""We are excited to have Daniel join the athletics department to enhance our fundraising efforts and continue to grow our department," said Corcoran. "He brings a wealth of experience in philanthropy and connections in the Lancaster area that will allow him to connect with our donors and build our corporate partnerships to enhance the student-athlete experience here at Millersville. This role is crucial to the success of our department now more than ever with the challenges facing higher education and intercollegiate athletics, and he showed himself to be the right person to take on this position."
Ross is no stranger to collegiate athletics as he was a standout swimmer at Georgetown, winning three Big East titles and our All-Big East honors while serving as a team captain before graduating with a degree in government and philosophy in 2018. In 2022, he earned a master's degree in project management from Georgetown. Ross laid the foundation for his career as an active student on campus, serving as president of the Georgetown Interhall Council and social media manager for Sustainable Ocean Alliance. While pursuing his master's degree, he launched The Racial Justice Institute and worked as a development associate for the Georgetown University Law Center, managing donor events, fundraising efforts and volunteers. Since completing his education at Georgetown, Ross has worked in development with the Leadership Now Project and U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Attollo Prep. At Attollo, he focused on major gifts, worked with local businesses for fundraising, and raised more than $165,000 during the ExtraGive.
"As someone born and raised right here in Lancaster County, Millersville University has always represented the heart of our community's pride," said Ross. "To step into the role of Director of Athletic Advancement feels like a true homecoming. My time as a swimmer at Georgetown University shaped me into the man I am today, and instilled in me a lifelong desire to pay forward the profound impact collegiate athletics has on a student-athlete's life. Having spent my career in fundraising, I know firsthand the power of community investment. Millersville Athletics is already experiencing fantastic growth, and I am eager to build on that momentum. I want to thank Kate Corcoran, and the entire athletics department for this opportunity. I look forward to working with our coaches, alumni and passionate supporters to give our student-athletes the resources they need to succeed, and thrive. Go Marauders!"
