ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
• The Millersville women's swim team looks to improve upon its 12th-place finish in last year's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimming Championships. The Marauders will send six total swimmers to this year's event. The doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for all morning sessions and close until the finals at 4:30 p.m.
• Senior Jessica Berry, senior Madisson Cartmill, junior Alexis Shollenberger and sophomore Maddi Stoner all qualified for the championships. Freshmen Amanda Simon and Elizabeth Rudderow will join the squad for relays.
• The Marauders bring an even mix to the postseason with three upperclassmen and three underclassmen. Millersville is set to compete in a total of 14 races over the four-day competition.
• Two swimmers are set to compete in the 200 individual medley, 400 individual medley, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 100 breaststroke. Stoner and Berry are the only swimmers set to compete in the 100 butterfly and 200 breast, respectively.
• Cartmill's 2:06.38 in the 200 back seeded her in third with Shollenberger following in 27th. The Marauders are experienced in the 400 IM, Cartmill sits at the highest spot in the seedings at sixth with a 4:38.48. Following Cartmill, Berry sits in 22nd with a time of 4:53.16. Cartmill ranks ninth in the 200 IM with a 2:11.66 and Berry ranks 39th with a 2:19.84.
• On Wednesday, Berry and Cartmill will swim in the 200 IM. Shollenberger and Stoner will take the pool to compete in the 50 free.
• On Thursday, Berry and Cartmill are set to race in the 400 IM. Following that event, Stoner will be the lone Marauder swimming the 100 fly.
• The duo of Cartmill and Shollenberger will start off the weekend's events with the 100 back followed by Stoner and Berry in the 100 breast.
• Berry and Shollenberger are set to compete in two events each to round out the championships on Saturday. The duo will race in the 100 free while just Berry will swim the 200 breast. Shollenberger will be joined by Cartmill in the 200 back.
LAST YEAR'S PSAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
• Cartmill opened the first day of the championships with a 2:14.04 prelim time in the 200 IM breaking her previous best of 2:15.93. She finished the finals in 24th with a 2:14.69.
• Stoner posted a new career-best in the 100 fly prelims touching the wall in 1:01.56.
• Both Cartmill and Shollenberger qualified for the finals in the 100 back. Shollenberger delivered a pre-consolation finals time of 1:00.77 for 21st place, 30 seconds slower than her prelim time. Cartmill concluded the prelims in ninth place with a time of 58.64, earning a consolation final spot where she posted a time of 59.11.
• Cartmill bested her previous time in the 200 back by nearly four seconds in the preliminaries to advance to the evening session as the No. 13 qualifier. She captured 16th place in the finals with a time of 2:12.70.
QUALIFYING JOURNEY OF THE MARAUDERS
• Cartmill secured a spot in this year's conference championships posting PSAC cuts in 100 free, 200 free, 100 back, 200 back and 400 IM. The senior shattered her previous career-best in the 400 IM setting a new pool and school record at the Ranger Invitational with a time of 4:38.58.
• Shollenberger punched her ticket to the PSAC Championships recording PSAC cuts in both the 100 and 200 back. Her times of 1:00.63 and 2:16.48 marked season-bests.
• Stoner saw success at the Ranger Invitational earlier in the season making the PSAC cut in the 50 free with a time of 25.74, her best of the season.
• Cartmill is participating in her fourth PSAC Championships while Shollenberger marks her third and Stoner marks her second.
