MILLERSVILLE MARAUDERS
Roster | Schedule | Times/Results
2018 Finish: 2nd/15
Millersville's PSAC Championship History
Returning All-PSAC Performers
• Sunflower Greene (shot put/1st, hammer (1st), discus (2nd))
• Kay Liebl, Lenaiya Flowers, Clara Forney (members of 4x400-meter relay (1st))
CHAMPIONSHIPS OUTLOOK
• One year ago, Millersville's 4x400-meter relay team pulled off a school record and first-place run to close the PSAC Outdoor Championships. The win lifted the Marauders to a second-place finish with 98 points. It was Millersville's best finish since 1996, but the Marauders have been a top-three finisher in four of the last five years. Last year, Shippensburg won its ninth consecutive championship with 156 points. West Chester placed third with 94 and Slippery Rock was fourth with 81. Millersville has totaled 90 or more points in three of the last five years. The last time it reached 100 was in 1996, when it won the championships. If the qualifying marks stay true to form, the Marauders are projected to total 96 points, which should put them in the mix to contend.
• This is the final PSAC Championships for Sunflower Greene, and certainly, competitors around the league will be glad to see her graduate. Greene has dominated both the indoor and outdoor championships over the last two years, winning the shot put and hammer throw in 2017 and 2018 while finishing second in the discus in 2018. Greene has set all-time PSAC and PSAC Championships records in the shot put and hammer. Including the indoor seasons, Greene has won eight consecutive PSAC titles in the shot put and weight throw/hammer. She has won back-to-back Field Athlete of the Meet awards at the outdoor championships and could very well win it again in 2019 as she holds the No. 1 spot in the shot put (52-6 3/4), discus (154-9) and hammer (200-3).
• Greene isn't the only Marauder thrower expected to score big. Millersville has four athletes ranked in the top eight in the hammer.
• Madison Martin has scored points in the discus twice and placed fifth in the hammer in 2018. She is coming off a third-place finish in the weight throw at the indoor championships and is in position to be an All-PSAC finisher in the hammer and discus this weekend. She is ranked third in the hammer (170-11) and third in the discus (142-1).
• Aliyah Striver placed fifth in the discus at last year's outdoor championships and placed fourth in the indoor shot put and fifth in the weight throw. She has the potential to score in all three throw events. Her 48-8 1/4 is second in the shot put. She also ranks fourth in the discus (141-4) and sixth in the hammer (159-6).
• Stephanie Garner is making her third outdoor championships appearance and placed fourth in the hammer last season. Her 157-11 is seeded eighth. Reuneshia Williams is seeded 12th in the shot put (38-11 3/4).
• Millersville could pile up points in the 400-meter dash. Clara Forney and Lenaiya Flowers are ranked one and two respectively. Forney ran a 57.15 on April 6 and Flowers' top time of 57.72 came on April 20. Forney won the race at the indoor championships and placed eighth at the outdoor championships last season. Flowers took fourth last season with a PR of 56.99.
• To challenge for the team championship, Millersville may need scoring performances in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Destinee Holloman posted the PSAC's 12th-fastest time in the 100 in the spring, and Emonie Reviere was the 13th. Flowers also qualified with the No. 15 time. Holloman placed 12th in the 100 as a freshman. Reviere is entering her third championships in the 100 and 200.
• Flowers (25.45), Forney (25.48), Reviere (25.51) and Holloman (25.75) all qualified in the 200. Reviere placed third in the event at the indoor championships.
• Yoangelys Rijo-Cedeno qualified in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.11. That time ranked 20th in the PSAC.
• Holloman and Brianna Doherty could also give the Marauders needed points in the long jump. The two are tied with the No. 9 mark of 18-1 1/2. Doherty placed 12th in the event in 2017 and ninth in 2018. Holloman placed 16th last season.
• Kaitlin Moyer is set to compete in her first outdoor championships in the heptathlon. Moyer's 3,492 points at the Modschein Multi was the 10th-highest total in the league this season.
• The relays will play a key role in Millersville's team finish as well. The Marauders are seeded No. 2 in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 47.57. That run was produced by the team of Doherty, Reviere, Kay Liebl and Holloman. The Marauders are seeded fifth in the 4x400 at 3:59.33. That time is nearly three seconds off of West Chester's top time of 3:56.56. Three of the four members of last year's championship run return. Millersville's 4x800-meter relay team surprised at the indoor championships and posted a 9:58.10 for a sixth-place finish. Of the five teams with a registered time, Millersville ranks third.
